Is it June 18th Yet?

I'm not quite sure the Little Ballerina is going to make a career out of dance. I'm thinking she may be better suited for boxing. You see, for the past two weeks she's been coming home from school with more "Yellow Days" than green ones. She even earned her first RED day for not listening during the library lesson. And not just one, but two in a row! The next day her behavior calendar was red also. This time the note read, "Please keep your hands to yourself." YIKES! Sounds more like a boxer than a dancer, doesn't it?

Her teacher now wants to set up a meeting with the guidance counselor hoping that she can provide us all with some "fresh ideas." Seeing as it's the end of May, and school is out in five weeks she better be pretty darn innovative. Because the Little Ballerina has already checked out for summer vacation. If she were still in preschool, she'd be done at the end of this week. This school year is dragging on too long for her. She told me, "I quit Kindergarten!"

I welcome the guidance counselor's ideas, but I can't get this image out of my mind.

Yep, Emma Pillsbury has ruined my faith in guidance counselors. I'm going to sit down in her office staring at her. Wondering if this is the moment she's going to bust out in song. Plus, I've spent the whole weekend trying to guess what song it will be. I'm thinking since she's freakishly shy that she'll probably just have this piped in through the speakers.

And that is why I've been taking LB out in the early evenings and having her run the dunes in true Rocky fashion. Wish me luck!

So I am all alone and home and I opened up your blog...I walked away to grab something before I read it...from the kitchen I heard Eye of the Tiger and I thought I was going crazy!

Yeah, I am sure we'll have red card days with my son when he starts Kinder next year...

we are in exactly the same mode up here ... 5 weeks to go, but both of my girls have totally left the building mentally - that homestretch is always the toughest, isn't it?! *sigh*

Kimberly - Sorry about the music. I tried to embed it so that you had to push "play," but I could only get it to play as soon as you open the post. :(

My little Miss Boo was on yellow because she pushed a boy~but he pushed her first & then she went back to green. The little boy called & left the cutest message apologizing to her, it made my heart melt! Oh my!

I think a lot of us are in the same boat. Express your concern to the teachers & guidance counselor. My mom used to say to my sister's teacher, "we need to channel her spirit" & "how can we do that?" Now my sister is a teacher & has to channel all those spirited kids!

We are here for you! And yes getting out that extra energy is key!!

I love, love, love that picture of L.B. in the dunes. I wish I had dunes to run my hooligans on.

Way too cute that she quit kindergarten! My daughter is in kindergarten also and she has her moments. In fact she has pulled a few cards and sat with the principle, boy, she makes me so proud, lol! Love the Rocky song and her at the top of the hill, very cute!

I will admit I have never seen Glee, but maybe a commercial. I did know she was the guidance counselor and she would make me want to run the other direction.

Hey I don't blame her for checking out, when the weather is nice it's hard to focus! And maybe she feels like I do. I go and work every Tuesday in my daughter's class and I want to run away from those kids too!

I saved your frittata recipe, it looks great!
