When the temps hit the triple digits you take your kids to the pool...

hall.

Yup, we can now add pool to the list of important life skills we've taught the ballerinas. (Ranking high on the list. Right behind darts.)

And as expected. LB was much more comfortable in this setting than her big sister.

But luckily, she still thinks this gumball machine is filled with glow-in-the-dark, super balls.

But, I'm sure it won't be long til she figures out why her quarter bought her a ping pong ball when there wasn't a single ping pong table in the place. I know she'll have that mystery figured out long before the Big Ballerina does.

Side story: BSD and I first met at a party through mutual friends. That night we played pool together. If someone had had a camera that night, there would have been pictures taken just like those above. Just insert my image in place of the ballerinas in these photos. Circle of life, baby. Circle of life.

I always used to play pool with my brother when we went out with my grandparents on a Saturday night to the civil service club. We used to think we were really cool, up til midnight shooting pool. Absolutely still love it!!! Lovely pics, brought back good memories. Thank you xx

Hm. Should I be embarrassed to admit that I have no idea what the glow-in-the-dark white balls are either?

Isn't there a saying that goes something like everything I learned about life I learned in a pool hall! Well Mama, you're gettin' them chillin's off to a mighty fine start there! And I have to say, I adore the shot of BSD and LB....LOVE the love going on there...you can just feel how proud he is of his little chickadee!

This is absolutely adorable. Everyone should have a local bar where they can hang out and just have fun (at least before the nightime fun begins).

I can just see the girls looking at you guys with crazy eyes while you giggle about when you first met. Love this story. Let's hope your little ballerina doesn't figure out those ping pong balls too soon (although if she started practicing now...think of the possibilities).

How fun! I learned to play pool in my grandparent's basement. And then I taught Joe :-) Love these!
