What They Wore Wednesday...

The Joy of Love assignment today was "how they look." You could interpret this any way you wanted, but since it's What I Wore Wednesday, I decided to combine the two. And since this workshop is about love I tried to play up the Valentine's aspect of the outfits they chose for school today when I was editing the photos.

For the Big Ballerina that meant trying to make the pink in her shirt pop.
top - Dillard's
jeggings - GapKids
Boots - Amazon.com

The Little Ballerina was actually a walking billboard for Valentine's Day today. Her shirt was decked out in hearts. Her skirt in frills. But the colors were subdued so we added in her umbrella since it was a rainy day here today. SEVENTY TWO DEGREES...but rainy. It was insane to have such a warm day in the sea of near freezing temps we've been experiencing this winter.
shirt, skirt, headband and leggings - GapKids (gotta love their 45% off sales!)
booties - Marshall's
umbrella - Dollar Tree

OK...and since this IS What I Wore Wednesday, I'll go ahead and post a picture of my outfit too. No fancy processing. Or background for that matter. But hey, I did wear pink too. And ruffles.
sweater and belt - JCrew
tee - Target
jeans - Lucky
necklace - local surf shop

Hi Kim - I signed up for this same class after seeing your post yesterday -one day late, but I'm loving my first day with it, thanks for the link!! I LOVE your shots from today - amazing color pops!! What a great idea to combine today's assignment with WIWW - your last WIWW post (plus this one too) was so inspiring, it's got me curious to take part ... but how on earth do you take these pics w/o cutting off your own head/arm/left side/etc?! your talents behind the lens never cease to amaze me ...

ummm...Sloan, if you notice...I have no feet! I can't do this to save my life. It is nearly impossible to take these pix of myself with that 50mm lens on. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to run downstairs to change the lens when I do this. Especially since I usually have just run down to get the damn card for the camera out of the computer!

I'm so glad you're going to do the workshop too! Can't wait to see what you've done. :)

What a bunch of cuties - all of you. I love the pop of the pink umbrella - and loving your ruffled cardi. I too cut off random body parts in my photos, but it's usually to make me look better - hee hee.

Great pictures Kim...love how you made the pinks pop! Do you edit in photoshop?
Your outfit is super cute too...your hair looks great...and lighter?

Thanks Kim! I already know I'm not smart enough for photo shop! :)
I have curly, wavy, frizzy hair too! It's always fun in the summer with the humidity! My mom and sisters have the easy kind of hair!
Have a great day!

Thanks, everyone! I'm having so much fun with this workshop. I hope I can keep up the momentum. And I'm so glad so many of you are doing it too. Can't wait to see what you've come up with. :)

Kerri- I don't use Photoshop. I have PSE, but I can't use the damn program. I hate that I can't figure it out. Used Lightroom for these two. And my hair is actually darker now. My halo must have been casting a glow around my head. teehee...Thanks for the sweet compliment. :)

Hi Kim! How are you? Thinking of you a lot and hoping you are having lots of happy days.

I love the pictures of your girls. These are great, and the backdrop is beautiful!!! You look super cute too! Love your outfit. I saw you commented above that you have PSE, I do too, and it's hard to work with. I only use it for a couple of different editing tools, but I go about it blindly.

Hope you have a great day!

cute! is that a Phat strap on your camera? I have a phat strap but no camera, boo hoo!

Cathy - It's a slipcover I made to cover up the ugly black camera strap it came with. What's a Phat strap? I'm going to have to google that.
