Ten on Ten: May 2011

May 10, 2011. Ten on Ten. Definitely not a day that I'm super excited to record in our family history book. But...it is what it is.

BSD left for work today. He'll be gone...a while. The last day we're together is either absolutely wonderful or completely lousy. This one goes down in the lousy column. We were both on edge. There's a "hurry up let's get this started already so it can be over" vibe that goes on. When it plays out this way we usually end up annoyed with each other. And this time was no exception.

But compared to what we've been through before. This really isn't that big of a deal. Really. It isn't. And, hey. We're that much closer to it being over now.

sorry BSD is going to be gone. . .hate it when that happens around here!

Can she really do homework that way?

And the hamster is too cute, but the eyes above the bathtub are cuter!

Such FUN picture Kim! I laughed out loud at your daughter and her legs up on the counter...it looks so funny! And the hamster is too cute...and such a fun tub picture!
Thanks again for the reminder...I would have totally missed 10 on 10 if it weren't for you!

Sorry BSD is away for awhile...that stinks. I can understand being on edge and then taking it out on each other...not that it ever happens here. Never. ;)

I'm sorry about the lousy sendoff for BSD! :( You do have the right perspective though, and I love your outlook.

LOVE your bottle tree. My mom has a couple in her yard. :)

Your kitchen makes me smile. It's so cheery and bright.

How do you girls get these done so quickly. I'm just now sitting down to edit mine. So sorry your day started that way. No fun leaving on that kind of note. I love the hamster shot...and the crazy way your daughter sits. But my favorite is the bottle tree - of course you know I have been coveting one of those - but all my bottles are of the green wine variety. Love this peek into your day.

great pics! When I fly solo things get changed around here (paint colors, furniture, etc) - must be my way of dealing with it.

Love the homework position - I actually burst out laughing...what a great picture to capture.

You cannot tell from your pictures that the day started out lousy, it looks like a lovely day.

My husband is a firefighter so he gone when he is at work, we have this same problem when he is on vacation. I can always tell on the first day if I am going to love having him home or wish he would hurry up and go back to work.

best,
elena

love your photos Kim! Let's drink a bottle of wine together and add to that bottle tree huh? Sorry about the sendoff...we've had many of those too. If I bring the wine can you teach me to sew?

And the popscicle thing is from William/Sonoma...called the zoku pop maker..I might need to try it out!

OMG, I had to laugh at your DD doing her homework! I TOTALLY used to do it exactly the same way. It was honestly the most comfortable position. Now I look at that and go, "wow, really?" LOL

How could I pick a favorite? Did you just find yourself laughing out loud all day?
