Two Left Feet

The end of Kindergarten was not good for the Little Ballerina. She could not keep it together. Her behavior calendar was filled with quite a bit of yellow and red.  Because of this, I've been dreading the return of school. Is she going to be able to pull herself together this year?

Over the past two weeks, she's moved from "Don't ever sign me up for school again!" to "I'm excited about going to first grade!" This is major. I am praying that this new found enthusiasm will last.

Tomorrow is the first day of school.

First day of school outfits have been laid out. Lunches have been planned. New school supplies are ready to go. We practiced LB's sight words. And the Big Ballerina read for 30 minutes before bed.

We are ready.
Or so I thought.
Until I pulled LB's new purple Chucks from their box tonight.
And discovered this...

Oh, Dear God! Are you SERIOUS?!? Is this a sign of things to come?!??! The Little Ballerina really CANNOT afford to start the school year off on the wrong foot!

Holy. Smokes.

OK. That's really sad...but I couldn't help but laugh.

The year will be fine. I wish your girls luck (and you as well) for 2010-2011.

Oh wow! Sorry but that is funny! Since our littlest ones are so similar (sorry, bummer I know!) I would have the same reaction as you!
Hopefully this year will be great for all of us! I am sure LB will do just fine in school and if she doesn't and is like mine, just repeat after me, "It will serve her well when she is an adult." Hey, I gotta have something to hold onto!

Holy cow, can you hear my GASP ... this SO stinks!! I can sympathize b/c both of my girls also have new Chuck Taylors for the first day ... and my littlest ladybug would have been in a flood of tears over the injustice of this, did your little ballerina just DIE?! Seriously, I want the update tomorrow ... hope they have a 'rightie' in stock for you! Fingers crossed ...

I once bought two pairs of shoes from Piper Lime online. The first box had a full pair of shoes. The second box had one shoe in the second style, and one shoe in the same style as the first pair. Ugghhh!
