Slide Show Sunday: Bake Sale

Just one more ballerina post and I'll shut up. It seems like we're consumed with all things ballet right now though.

The big ballerina's studio is expanding. Very exciting. With a $135 donation, you can purchase a three foot barre section for the new full stage-sized studio they are building. Big deal, right? It is to the Big Ballerina and her buddies. Because underneath that section of barre they will post a plaque bearing THEIR names on it.

So today the ballerinas held a bake sale. Dressed in full ballet attire. Buns and all.
(although the heat and humidity was too much for BB's curls to handle.)

 We baked. We posted signs.

We sold lemonade. And the girls hawked their wares...

Until there wasn't a single cupcake left.

Counting the money every 5 minutes was a coveted job.

And two hours later....
Goal Met!

My two little dancers would think that was a BIG DEAL too!!
Good for them for raising the money themselves...it will mean so much more that way.
Enjoy the night

They are just too cute in their little ballerina outfits!!

What a great mom to help with all of the that.

So glad they made their goal and will now have their own little piece of immortality. . .under the barre

How awesome that they were able to raise the money themselves (with a little help from mom!) for something that means so much to them. I think that's pretty great. It probably would have been easier to just divide the cost between families...but instead they learned a valuable lesson...and had FUN too!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this post, Kim - what a great thing you did by having them earn the $ themselves, such an invaluable lesson :-) Those must've been some tasty baked goods to fetch $135 - way to go, mom!!

PS - walking with swooper on Weds, wish you were here ... hope you got the pic I sent of the camera strap - with your many talents, I think you could start the same business!
