Only One More Week to Go

You may remember that I signed up to take an online writing class. Well, we're already heading into the home stretch.

Last night, I stayed up until the wee morning hours getting my homework turned in only to wake a few hours later with a whole new idea for an entire section. Two nights ago, unable to sleep, I turned on my computer at 1am and worked on my essays until 4am. I've spent hours poring over magazines at Barnes & Noble. For the first time in years, I walked past the Children's Room and crossed the threshold of the Reference section of the library.

I am tired. I am spent. I still have one week to go. But, at the same time...

I am invigorated.
I am excited.
I am learning.

While I miss the camaraderie of a live class, I think it is fair to say it was worth it.

Oh, that's great, Kim! You signing up for another?

Only if it's a PB class and you promise to take it with me. Oh, wait...I forgot. You're a big time published author. Maybe you'd consider TEACHING one then?!

Seriously, though, I would love to take a PB class.

Kim,
I too am invigorated by Abby's class, but I miss the camaraderie and community. I wish they didn't do this email format and did more of a Yahoo group so we could chat.

What is a PB class? I want to take another class after this and need suggestions.

That's awesome to hear! Can't wait to hear your adventures with the next class!

Vanessa,

Glad I'm not the only one feeling lonely. Being able to chat would be a GREAT addition to the class. I would have gotten so much out of being able to talk with all of you.

Oh, PB stands for Picture Book. Corey writes picture books. Really good ones too. :) Any interest in writing picture books? We can sign up for another class together. :)

Yea! Glad you liked it. Do you think you'll try to publish anything that you wrote in the class?

Fawn - I do plan to try to publish my pieces. That's what the class is about. We're writing only 2 pieces and working on finding target markets for them. Something I knew nothing about.
