Summer's over. I can't believe it! The first day of school went off without a hitch.
The Little Ballerina came home with two tickets for good behavior. She needs five to buy some stickers from the Treasure Chest. Hopefully she'll earn the rest before the end of the year.
The Big Ballerina survived her very first day of middle school. She found her way around the campus to each of her classes. She figured out the combination on her new locker. And she only cried for 10 minutes when I questioned her about the directions on her Pre-Algebra pretest tonight. Because she wasn't supposed to have ANY help. She's still mourning the break-up with her Safety Patrol belt.
As for me, my eyes are crossed. And I'm in the beginning stages of carpal tunnel from the five pound packets of papers the ballerinas each brought home for me to complete tonight. I'm already tired of making lunches. And once carpool driving starts, ironing their clothes will get kicked to the curb too. It's all about survival at that point.

Sounds like all in all it went well and great photos to boot! It's not school day today here and I'm glad of a break!
my daughter loves Soul Surfer too...and what I don't get is WHY can't the schools just use last years info? Hello? If I've changed my address, phone, email, doctor, dentist, marital status..I'll notify you! :)

I hate making lunches too. . .I've always felt like a bad mom because of it. . .I make my kids make their own. Even my little ones. . .terrible!
Love the photos. . .I'm pulling for LB that she will get those other tickets before Christmas!:)

Love the photo collage idea too!
What FUN first day of school pics! I love the picture collages of their "favorites!"
Agree with Pam here...last years info. I mean it was only 3 months ago.
Tell your youngest that I love Selena Gomez too. Such cute pics!
Happy Back to school!
I am certain that your little one will earn a few more tickets by the end of the week.
My husband and I have started watching Dance Moms YIKES!
I am sick of packing lunches too, and we are only on day 2!
Glad the first day went well!
I love your story board idea to go along with their first day of school. I think I'm going to start doing that; what program do you make yours with? Hopefully not something too complicated because I'm somewhat of a computer dummy. Also, I have to tell you that BB looks just like you in the picture with her book on top of her head! Holy cow!
I feel your pain - three weeks in for us and it already seems like a lifetime. I spent hours yesterday working out the neighborhood carpool - only to have a parent call the minute after I published it....to tell me it didn't work. Breath deep - let go - it will all be OK. Such wonderful colorful pics. Happy first week to you all.
LOVE LOVE LOVE these photos. They are such great back to school pictures.
I'm not admitting this to many. I feel so much pressure to put Boyd in some sort of pre-school, but I think I'm going to wait until next year. Then he will have one year of it before kindergarten. I want to soak up and savor this last year we have of no school. I'm excited for it, but not ready for schedules, etc. I hope that doesn't sound like an awful comment on this post. Just saying I can only imagine how hard it is to get in the groove of it all.
:))
Hey Kim - To answer your questions...
No, I haven't taken any classes from those ladies I recommended. I just read their blogs and try to follow their instruction. I would love to do an online class, but I know my self well enough to know I am horrible at follow through. I would love to do the Brooke Snow one, but I don't want to spend the $$$$.
I also get a ton of story telling inspiration from YOUR BLOG. Your photos are awesome.
Love the pictures and hope the ballerinas have a wonderful school year!
Love these, especially the one of BB with the book on her head and the storyboards. Very cool idea! And yeah, I hate the stacks of paperwork and making lunches too.
